President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday
collected the presidential nomination of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at
the party’s national headquarters, Wadata Plaza in Abuja. He was accompanied by
the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, ministers, state governors and other party
officials.

After picking the form, the president said,
“We will work harder and move faster” He thanked all those that contributed
funds towards the purchase of the form.
Nigerians contributed various sums of money towards payment of the form.
The Special Adviser to the
President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati had announced a total
receipt of ₦98.75 million.

The highest
donations of ₦22 million each came from the governors of Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) and the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria (TAN). The least donations
came from Mr. Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme, who donated ₦5, 000 and Mr. Ezemagu
Sunday Nnamdi, who gave ₦10, 000. The list of 38 donors includes people with
disabilities, widows, cattle sellers, northern youths and communities, among
others.
